Course Abstract
Theme: Introduction to architecture, drawing scales, design methods, analysis, observation
The objective of this semester is to introduce the different scales of architectural design and the fundamental working methods in architecture, their purpose and their content as well as their desired quality standards.
The aim of architecture is to built physical environments. They don’t have to result in an actual building, yet the understanding of tectonic, craft and materiality shall be embedded into architecture and the architect’s thinking process from the beginning. To introduce a deeper understanding of conception, experimentation and crafting is a core competence of the architect. The studio will offer a constructive discourse to that process.
