Tai Kong Po Village, located in the Northern part of Kam Tin, has the highest number of organic farms in Hong Kong nowadays. While being able to sustain the agricultural production, the village itself also faces multiple challenges including waste management, environmental pollution, provision of public spaces and community facilities, as well as developing strategies of adaptive reuse for abandoned public facilities.
Invited by Land Education Foundation, a series of community engagement activities, including field work study, guided tour, village culture workshop and design-build workshops, has been conducted with the village committee in order to provide a sustainable development vision in Tai Kong Po.
